About our shows...
A+ currently features 11 interactive shows in the areas of math, reading, science, social studies, character education, health, on-line safety, the environment, cultural history, virtual field trips, and test preparation. Each show can be customized to include specific selections from hundreds of various topics within each area. Our shows run for fifty (50) minutes and we typically perform a primary (PreK-2) and an intermediate (Grades 3-5) version of each. A single performance can also be scheduled at a discounted rate.
The entertainment end of our assemblies is truly one of a kind. We showcase an array of technology that can best be described as "mesmerizing" to children and adults alike. We incorporate PowerPoint presentations, Flash movies, 3-D images, unique animation, and amazing sound into all of our shows. We feature 15' diagonal projection screens along with state-of-the-art sound systems and content related props and objects.
The educational framework for all of our shows is provided by The Maryland Voluntary State Curriculum, The Pennsylvania Academic Standards, and The Delaware Content Standards. Don't worry, we won't bog you down with the details but know that everything we do has a basis in what you teach.
Our involvement doesn't end with each visit. Handouts and worksheets are provided as a follow-up activity for every student (Teachers, these usually provide 20 minutes of practice). In addition, the children can review skills and information from our lessons by logging on to our free on-line portal called the A+ Kids' Club (www.apluskidsclub.com).
